How does the forth angel relate to the third angel?

Basically the  fourth  angel gives force to the third angel, it makes the third angel more known to the world. It proclaims it.

Then will the message of the third angel swell to a loud cry, and the whole earth will be lightened with the glory of the Lord.–Testimonies, vol. 6, p. 401. (1900) {Ev 693.2}

Then I saw another mighty angel commissioned to descend to earth, and unite his voice with the third angel, and give power and force to his message… The work of this angel comes in at the right time, and joins in the last great work of the third angel’s message, as it swells into a loud cry. And the people of God are fitted up every where to stand in the hour of temptation which they are soon to meet. I saw a great light resting upon them, and they united in the message, and fearlessly proclaimed with great power the third angel’s message. {1SG 193.2}

What are the two parts to the Loud Cry?

First Part: Babylon is fallen is fallen  and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird…“

Second par: Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues; for her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.”..

What are the Angels were sent to aid the mighty angel from heaven, and I heard voices which seemed to sound every where, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues; for her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. This message seemed to be an addition to the third message, and joined it, as the midnight cry joined the second angel’s message in 1844. The glory of God rested upon the patient, waiting saints, and they fearlessly gave the last solemn warning, proclaiming the fall of Babylon, and calling upon God’s people to come out of her; that they might escape her fearful doom. {1SG 194.1}

What are the two parts to the final warning?

First Part: “Babylon is fallen, is fallen… Come out of her, my people…

Second Part: The third angles message

Of Babylon, at the time brought to view in this prophecy, it is declared: “Her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” Revelation 18:5. She has filled up the measure of her guilt, and destruction is about to fall upon her. But God still has a people in Babylon; and before the visitation of His judgments these faithful ones must be called out, that they partake not of her sins and “receive not of her plagues.” Hence the movement symbolized by the angel coming down from heaven, lightening the earth with his glory and crying mightily with a strong voice, announcing the sins of Babylon. ” In connection with his message the call is heard: “Come out of her, My people. These announcements, uniting with the third angel’s message, constitute the final warning to be given to the inhabitants of the earth. {GC 604.1}

What is the difference between “Babylon is fallen” in the second angel’s message of Revelation 14, as given in the summer of 1844, and “Babylon is fallen” in the Loud Cry of Revelation 18?

In Rev 14 , Babylon is fallen because she rejected the first angels message. But in Rev 18 Babylon is fallen because she has not only rejected the first angels message, but she has rejected all three!  She has broken the forth commandment, and is teaching others to do so. As time goes on, she has become more and more corrupted and she is leading others down that course too. Now God has to do something, he is going to end all sin once and for all.

Babylon is become: “the habitation of devils,” “the hold of every foul spirit,” “and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.”  Explain each of these elements.

The habitation of devils: Our bodies of humans are made to be the dwelling place for God, but  instead devils are occupying that. ( not us but them) Satan is taking hold on people in every way possible, their nerves, passions, hearts, and minds. As he does this, their bodies will become the “habitation of devils.”

The hold of every foul spirit and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird: As they let their senses, passions, and their thoughts, Satan will take complete control over them( or us) if we are not careful. By letting spiritualism into the church, they are opening the door for ” every foul spirit, the cage of every unclean and hateful bird.”

Babylon had a lot of soccer’s and that constituted to her leading crime and spiritualism. Because of all her sinfulness, she became “the habitation of devils, the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.” As the church allows spiritualism, little by little it will open the door to seducing spirits and doctrines and thus evil angles will be felt in the churches.

As the teachings of spiritualism are accepted by the churches, the restraint imposed upon the carnal heart is removed, and the profession of religion will become a cloak to conceal the basest iniquity. A belief in spiritual manifestations opens the door to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, and thus the influence of evil angels will be felt in the churches. {GC 603.2}

They had chosen a ruler who chained them to his car as captive… Satanic agencies were incorporated with men. The bodies of human beings, made for the dwelling place of God, had become the habitation of demons. The senses, the nerves, the passions, the organs of men, were worked by supernatural agencies in the indulgence of the vilest lust. The very stamp of demons was impressed upon the countenances of men. Human faces reflected the expression of the legions of evil with which they were possessed. {DA 36.3}

List and explain the sins of Babylon, as stated in Revelation 18.

Wine of the wrath of her fornication: False doctrines, exalting Sunday instead of God’s ordained Sabbath day for us to worship. She( Babylon) disregarded the forth commandment and is exalting  a false and spurious sabbath. These people that drink this” wine of the wrath of her fornication” are going to be the ones that stir up anger against those that are not in harmony with the false and satanic herises which exalt the false sabbath, and they are going to  lead others to do so too.

Kings have committed fornication with her:

Joining worldly alliances, church state alliances. They are the  kings and Babylon is church, and the rulers are  committing  fornication with her, so they are joining an alliance together that is for a common goal, for the worshiping on Sunday instead of sabbath, and exlating false doctrines, going against what they know is right.

The merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

Using Extravagance as the means of money for selfish- motives and heresy.

Babylon has grown so wicked that she is leading others astry with her and her teachings.  Little by little it is  are becoming drunk with the wine of her fornication and the pleasures of this world. They trample God’s ordained law and dont worship on the day that he spifically said for them to worship, they have no part to have with God and his law and they are going to recieve the mark of the beast. They were distnically clinging to the docrines that oppose God’s word.

What is that wine?–her false doctrines. She has given to the world a false sabbath instead of the Sabbath of the fourth commandment, and has repeated the falsehood that Satan first told to Eve in Eden–the natural immortality of the soul. Many kindred errors she has spread far and wide, “teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. {7BC 985.4}”

The wine of Babylon is the exalting of the false and spurious sabbath above the Sabbath which the Lord Jehovah hath blessed and sanctified for the use of man, also [it is] the immortality of the soul. These kindred heresies, and the rejection of the truth, convert the church into Babylon. Kings, merchants, rulers, and religious teachers are all in corrupt harmony. {2SM 68.2}

God denounces Babylon “because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” This means that she has disregarded the only commandment which points out the true God, and has torn down the Sabbath, God’s memorial of creation. {7BC 979.5}”

The fallen denominational churches are Babylon. Babylon has been fostering poisonous doctrines, the wine of error. This wine of error is made up of false doctrines, such as the natural immortality of the soul, the eternal torment of the wicked, the denial of the pre-existence of Christ prior to His birth in Bethlehem, and advocating and exalting the first day of the week above God’s holy and sanctified day. These and kindred errors are presented to the world by the various churches, and thus the Scriptures are fulfilled that say, ‘For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.’ It is a wrath which is created by false doctrines, and when kings and presidents drink this wine of the wrath of her fornication, they are stirred with anger against those who will not come into harmony with the false and satanic heresies which exalt the false sabbath, and lead men to trample underfoot God’s memorial. {TM 61.3}

But the man of sin, exalting himself above God, sitting in the temple of God, and showing himself to be God, thought to change times and laws. This power, thinking to prove that it was not only equal to God, but above God, changed the rest day, placing the first day of the week where the seventh should be. And the Protestant world has taken this child of the papacy to be regarded as sacred. In the Word of God this is called her fornication. {7BC 979.7}

The message in the eighteenth chapter of Revelation is plain and clearly defined. “For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies” (verse 3). Anyone who reads this chapter need not be deceived. {2SM 68.1}

Extravagance in the use of means, selfishness, heresies, have taken the world captive. For centuries satanic agencies have been at work. Will they now give up without a struggle (MS 172, 1899)? {7BC 985.

When does Babylon’s sins reach unto heaven?

When the government makes the decree that the day they say is the day for worship (Sunday), disregarding the true Sabbath.( Saturday) When God’s law is finally done away with. When people have the choice to deciede between God or man, who they will obey.

When do her sins reach unto heaven [Rev. 18:2-5]? When the law of God is finally made void by legislation.–ST June 12, 1893. {LDE 198.5}

God keeps a record with the nations. The figures are swelling against them in the books of heaven, and when it shall have become a law that the transgression of the first day of the week shall be met with punishment, then their cup will be full.–7BC 910 (1886).

Why does Revelation 18 say that Babylon receives the plague?

Because “her sins and reached unto heaven.” The world has become so evil and perverse that God has to pour out his wrath on them. Destruction has to  fall on her because of her sinfulness, but for those who are faithful, the plagues will not fall on them. God’s seal will be on them, and nothing will be able to touch them.

If you are honestly serving God, what difference does it make which church you belong to? [according to Revelation 18]

The difference is whether you want to sever God with your whole heart, following what the bible says 100 %,(that includes the Sabbath.) That means being a Seventh-day Adventist, because it  is the only church that follows God’s law all the way, especially worshiping on the Sabbath. Other churches may do some things right, but they do not worship on the seventh day of the week. That is God’s special  test for us who believe in him. The big difference though is the people that compose Babylon are going to receive the plagues and be apart of her sins, so if we dont want to be apart of that, then we will not want to have anything to do with being apart of Babylon, her sinfullness and  of  her condemnation.

Why are there only two distinct calls made to the churches?

The first call was to let them know about the seriousness of the problem, the intensity to which they were subject. The second call is saying that  Babylon has gone as far as she possibly can in her sins, her cup or measure  of guilt has been filled up, and destruction is about to befall her. But  God still has a special people that haven’t disregarded what he told them and they are still obeying all of his commandment, and they have to chance to come out of Babylon now. And becasue her sins have reached unto heaven, God has to pour out his wrath unmigled with mercy on them. But for those that are following God, his seal is upon them and they will not be hurt at all. His hand will guide them and keep them safe. Besides these two calls, there is not really any other major important calls to be made.

When is the Loud Cry supposed to be given?

We are supposed to be spreading the  message to the whole world,( that Jesus is coming and to be ready for his return) and after it has gone to every nation, tongue tribe and people, then Jesus will be ready to come to take his children home. And after we have done this, then the loud cry is supposed to come. God is a very merciful God, but he cannot let wickedness go on for forever. God will then call his faithful ones out of Babylon, so that they will not receive the plagues and be apart of her sinfulness. One the Sunday law is finally out, and every chooses who they are going to obey, then Babylons days are over. Her cup of indignation is full and destruction is on her way.

What is it that gives power to the Loud voice [Cry]?

The latter rain or the refreshing of the Lord is what will give power to the loud voice or cry.” Then I saw another mighty angel commissioned to descend to the earth to untie his voice with the third angel and to give power and force to the message.” God has given this great angel power, glory and light, and he joins in with the third angel to sound the message to the  whole world. He is the one that really gives power to the message.

At that time the “latter rain,” or refreshing from the presence of the Lord, will come, to give power to the loud voice of the third angel, and prepare the saints to stand in the period when the seven last plagues shall be poured out.–EW 86 (1854). {LDE 186.4}

Evolution vs Creation

Why do you think that our church finds itself in this situation of La Sierra University professors teaching evolution as fact?

Well first off, I think that when we start to not follow what we know is right in the little daily things in our lives it will start to show in the bigger things.( I dont know if this is the case for them though) If we just settle for what everyone else thinks, disregarding what we know is true and right, then we will be in for big trouble. Just because the world thinks one way, should that dictate what we think? Even if they know down deep that its not true, but for popular sake they teach it, to me that is biblicaly  wrong.

What do you think should be done about it? [Maybe you could pretend that you were the General Conference president]

I think we should be asking a  ” what doth the Lord think about it?” question. If I know that something is right, I want to do my best to follow what I know, no matter what people think about it. Just becuase the world teaches one thing, doesnt mean its right for me, especially if I know better. We should do right because its right, no matter what others think about it.

Third Angels message

What is the core content of the third angel’s message?

Understanding that Jesus moved from the holy place to the most holy place of the sanctuary.( The mediation of Christ) So by faith the saints(or righteous) go into the most holy place.( by faith) Righteousness by faith in Jesus Christ  our only surety. The perpetuity of the law,that it is still relevant to us today.

When did Jesus send the third angel’s message?

In the year 1844, when Jesus moved from the holy place to the most holy place, he sent out the third and final angel.After the first and second had sounded their warning to the world.

As foretold in the Scriptures, the ministration of Christ in the most holy place began at the termination of the prophetic days in 1844.{4SP 273.2}

When Christ entered the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary to perform the closing work of the atonement, he committed to his servants the last message of mercy to be given to the world. Such is the warning of the third angel of Revelation 14. Immediately following its proclamation, the Son of man is seen by the prophet coming in glory to reap the harvest of the earth. {4SP 273.1}

How did the third angel light up the past, the present, and the future to the early advent believers after the passing of the time in 1844?

Past: Pointed the disappointed upward to Jesus and his ministration in the heavenly sanctuary, it gave them hope. Present: By looking back and reviewing the past, they were encouraged that just as Jesus had been with the early believers during the early advent disappointment, he would be with them now too. Even though at that time ( 1844), it didn’t make sense why they were disappointed, now they understood and it made perfect sense. Future: It shows the light of the Sabbath. It is a test to the true believers of God. When new light is given them, will they listen to it, or would they be content to just do what they always have. ( gone to church on Sunday) Will they change their way of worship from God’s Sabbath, just because its not convenient for them?

After Jesus opened the door of the most holy, the light of the Sabbath was seen, and the people of God were tested, as the children of Israel were tested anciently, to see if they would keep God’s law. I saw the third angel pointing upward, showing the disappointed ones the way to the holiest of the heavenly sanctuary. As they by faith enter the most holy, they find Jesus, and hope and joy spring up anew. I saw them looking back, reviewing the past, from the proclamation of the second advent of Jesus, down through their experience to the passing of the time in 1844. They see their disappointment explained, and joy and certainty again animate them. The third angel has lighted up the past, the present, and the future, and they know that God has indeed led them by His mysterious providence. {EW 254.2}

As the ministration of Jesus closed in the holy place, and He passed into the holiest, and stood before the ark containing the law of God, He sent another mighty angel with a third message to the world. A parchment was placed in the angel’s hand, and as he descended to the earth in power and majesty, he proclaimed a fearful warning, with the most terrible threatening ever borne to man. This message was designed to put the children of God upon their guard, by showing them the hour of temptation and anguish that was before them. Said the angel, “They will be brought into close combat with the beast and his image. Their only hope of eternal life is to remain steadfast. Although their lives are at stake, they must hold fast the truth.” The third angel closes his message thus: “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” As he repeated these words, he pointed to the heavenly sanctuary. The minds of all who embrace this message are directed to the most holy place, where Jesus stands before the ark, making His final intercession for all those for whom mercy still lingers and for those who have ignorantly broken the law of God. This atonement is made for the righteous dead as well as for the righteous living. It includes all who died trusting in Christ, but who, not having received the light upon God’s commandments, had sinned ignorantly in transgressing its precepts. {EW 254.1}

Why does the evangelical Christian world not accept the truth of Christ’s change of ministration from the holy place to the most holy place in 1844?

Its call to be different. By obeying the forth commandment, we will be looked upon as peculiar and different. By following the way of the world, we will be deceived. By following what God says in the Bible, we wont; we will know what God wants us to do. Although its not what we are used to, if we truly love God, following all of his requirements will be a joy and an honor, even worshiping on the Sabbath. By acknowledging that Jesus moved from the holy place to the most holy place, people will  have to acknowledge the Sabbath too. By understanding all three angels messages, we will be kept from Satan’s delusions.

We hold no doctrine that we wish to hide. To those who have been educated to keep the first day of the week as a sacred day, the most objectionable feature of our faith is the Sabbath of the fourth commandment. But does not God’s word declare that the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God? And although it is not an easy matter to make the required change from the first to the seventh day, this change must be made. It involves a cross; it clashes with the precepts and practises of men. Learned men have taught the people till they are full of unbelief and prejudice; and yet we must say to these people, “Come and see.” God requires us to proclaim the truth, and let it discover error. {PH089 22.1}

Many and earnest were the efforts made to overthrow their faith. None could fail to see that if the earthly sanctuary was a figure or pattern of the heavenly, the law deposited in the ark on earth was an exact transcript of the law in the ark in Heaven, and that an acceptance of the truth concerning the heavenly sanctuary involved an acknowledgment of the claims of God’s law, and the obligation of the Sabbath of the fourth commandment. Here was the secret of the bitter and determined opposition to the harmonious exposition of the Scriptures that brought to view the ministration of Christ in the heavenly sanctuary. How hard men tried to close the door which God had opened, and to open the door which he had closed! But “He that openeth and no man shutteth, and shutteth and no man openeth,” had declared, “Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it.” [REV. 3:7, 8.] Christ had opened the door, or ministration, of the most holy place, light was shining from that open door of the sanctuary in Heaven, and the fourth commandment was shown to be included in the law within the ark; what God had established, no man could overthrow. {4SP 275.1}

How is the message of justification by faith the third angel’s message?

Justification by faith in Jesus alone invited people to receive Christ as their personal savior, which will be made manifest in obedience to all of God’s commandments, even the fourth. ” If you love me, keep my commandments.” If we really love Jesus, it will be made manifest in our obedience to God. Obeying his commands is the least  we can do to show him our gratitude for all that he has done for us. We believe in justification by faith,  not works.  Our ” works” are  just out of pure love for God, to obey his commandments

This message was to bring more prominently before the world the uplifted Saviour, the sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. It presented justification through faith in the Surety; it invited the people to receive the righteousness of Christ, which is made manifest in obedience to all the commandments of God. Many had lost sight of Jesus. They needed to have their eyes directed to His divine person, His merits, and His changeless love for the human family. All power is given into His hands, that He may dispense rich gifts unto men, imparting the priceless gift of His own righteousness to the helpless human agent. This is the message that God commanded to be given to the world. It is the third angel’s message, which is to be proclaimed with a loud voice, and attended with the outpouring of His Spirit in a large measure. –Testimonies to Ministers, pp. 91-93. (1896) {Ev 190.4}

It presented justification through faith in the Surety; it invited the people to receive the righteousness of Christ, which is made manifest in obedience to all the commandments of God. {LDE 200.1}

What is the purpose of the numbering system for the angels’ messages of Revelation 14?

The three angels messages were to point forward to the most holy place so that they( the people of God ) could by faith enter the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary. They were to go in sequence, one after another.

Many who embraced the third message had not had an experience in the two former messages. Satan understood this, and his evil eye was upon them to overthrow them; but the third angel was pointing them to the most holy place, and those who had had an experience in the past messages were pointing them the way to the heavenly sanctuary. Many saw the perfect chain of truth in the angels’ messages, and gladly received them in their order, and followed Jesus by faith into the heavenly sanctuary. These messages were represented to me as an anchor to the people of God. Those who understand and receive them will be kept from being swept away by the many delusions of Satan. {EW 256.2}

Revelation 14: 8,9 IS NOT SIMPLY THAT THE SECOND AND THIRD ANGELS FOLLOWED THE FIRST IN POINT OF TIME, BUT THAT THEY WENT WITH HIM. THE THREE MESSAGES ARE BUT ONE THREEFOLD MESSAGE. THEY ARE THREE ONLY IN THE ORDER OF THEIR RISE. BUT HAVING RISEN, THEY GO ON TOGETHER AND ARE INSEPARABLE. {GC 693.1}

How do the first, second, and third angels’ messages all blend into one?

They are meant to go together, and one with out the other is not complete.  “Another angel followed after”, he word followed means ” to go along with” and it also means to accompany. The angles precede each other. God intended that one message would follow after the next and that they would then ” go together.”  They all relate to each other. The first angel tells us to” fear God and give glory to God for the hour of his judgment is come” and then the second ” Babylon is fallen is fallen” If anyone receive the mark of the beast” and so on, but the first message is telling us to worship him, then that this gone and if we dont watch it, we will be too.( that’s the third) Basically they are telling people to be ready when Jesus comes.

Thus the substance of the second angel’s message is again given to the world by that other angel who lightens the earth with his glory. These messages all blend in one, to come before the people in the closing days of this earth’s history. {2SM 116.2}

The first, second, and third angels’ messages are all linked together. {2SM 117.2}  The three messages are but one threefold message. They are three only in the order of their rise. But having risen, they go on together and are inseparable. {GC 693 appendix}

How can you show that the mediation of Christ and the perpetuity of the law of God are the truths of the third angel’s message?

The third angel shows the way in to the most holy place, where Christ is ministering for us. His blood covers our sins and gives us hope for eternal life. Jesus ministering for us allows us to enter by faith into the most holy place of the sanctuary. The ark of the convent is in the heavenly sactuary too, and inside is the ten commandments. If we beleive that Jesus is ministring there in our behalf, then we would have to beleive the ten commandments. God wrote them with his own hand, and we still doubt that they are applicable to us? Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. We have to believe that the truths of God’s law are still relevant for us today, becasue just as he never changes, not does the commands he gives us either.

Those who rejected the first message could not be benefited by the second; neither were they benefited by the midnight cry, which was to prepare them to enter with Jesus by faith into the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary. And by rejecting the two former messages, they have so darkened their understanding that they can see no light in the third angel’s message, which shows the way into the most holy place.

Those who had accepted the light concerning the mediation of Christ and the perpetuity of the law of God, found that these were the truths brought to view in the third message. {4SP 275.2}It was represented to me that the remnant followed Jesus into the most holy place and beheld the ark and the mercy seat, and were captivated with their glory. Jesus then raised the cover of the ark, and lo! the tables of stone, with the ten commandments written upon them. They trace down the lively oracles, but start back with trembling when they see the fourth commandment among the ten holy precepts, with a brighter light shining upon it than upon the other nine, and a halo of glory all around it.{EW 255.1}

Where is the “here” in Revelation 14:12: “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God” “and their faith in Jesus.”

Here is talking about when the saints enter by faith into the most holy place of the sanctuary. They believe that God is ministering there on our behalf and that when he moved there in 1844, that’s when probation started.  So the ” Here” is the most holy place.

What is the “action step[s]” for the third angel’s message?

To be ready when Jesus comes and to help others to be ready too. It is a life and death question. The third message is the last of the three messages  to the world. It is a warning to “come out of Babylon” Its a call to be  different from the norm, by obeying the fourth commandment and keeping the Sabbath.We are too be lights to the world, letting people know about the truth of God’s word, including the importance of the Sabbath. By accepting or not accepting the sabbath, we will receive either the mark of the beast or the seal of God. The way we live our lives now will determine what signet we shall receive. Also to receive the righteousness of Christ by faith,( justification by faith) knowing that we cannot of ourselves receive salvation. Our ” works” will merit us nothing, they are just what we do to show our love and devotion to Jesus.

The third angel’s message is to be regarded as of the highest importance. It is a life and death question. The impression made by this message will be proportionate to the earnestness and solemnity with which it is proclaimed (MS 16, 1900). {7BC 980.3}

We hold no doctrine that we wish to hide. To those who have been educated to keep the first day of the week as a sacred day, the most objectionable feature of our faith is the Sabbath of the fourth commandment. But does not God’s word declare that the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God? And although it is not an easy matter to make the required change from the first to the seventh day, this change must be made. It involves a cross; it clashes with the precepts and practises of men. Learned men have taught the people till they are full of unbelief and prejudice; and yet we must say to these people, “Come and see.” God requires us to proclaim the truth, and let it discover error. {PH089 22.1}

…we are to be bodies of light, proclaiming Christ and his love to the people, and presenting all our doctrines in their true relation to this important theme. {PH089 23.3}

If we receive this mark in our foreheads or in our hands, the judgments pronounced against the disobedient must fall upon us. But the seal of the living God is placed upon those who conscientiously keep the Sabbath of the Lord (RH July 13, 1897). {7BC 980.2}

What are the two purposes for the warning against the beast and his image contained in the third message?

To warn people so that they will have the opportunity to escape God’s wrath. God does not want us to be ignorant of what is to come, so he warns us ahead of time so that we will get ready and so that we will be able to  help others too. God is a very loving and gracious God, but he has to punish sin for what it really is, but at the same time wants all of us to have the chance to really choose whose side we are on. The test will be if they will keep the Sabbath day holy, or will they compromise for the sake of others and worship on Sunday. If they know the truth, and they still persist not to  follow what they know is right, then God will pour out his ” wrath on us, with unmingled mercy”. They will receive the mark of the beast. But untill each person has made the descion for themselves which side they are really on, God will not send judgment on them. God wants us all to be in heaven, thats why he gives us so many chances. If we choose  to keep the sabbath day holy, will receive the seal of the living God, that’s what I want to receive, what about you?

The most fearful threatening ever addressed to mortals is contained in the third angel’s message. That must be a terrible sin which calls down the wrath of God unmingled with mercy. Men are not to be left in darkness concerning this important matter; the warning against this sin is to be given to the world before the visitation of God’s judgments, that all may know why they are to be inflicted, and have opportunity to escape them… The warning of the third angel… will command the attention of the world. {GC 449.2}

The most solemn warning and the most awful threatening ever addressed to mortals is that contained in the third angel’s message. The sin that calls down the wrath of God unmixed with mercy must be of the most heinous character. Is the world to be left in darkness as to the nature of this sin?–Most assuredly not. God does not deal thus with His creatures. His wrath is never visited upon sins of ignorance. Before His judgments are brought upon the earth, the light in regard to this sin must be presented to the world, that man may know why these judgments are to be inflicted, and may have opportunity to escape them. {ST, November 1, 1899 par. 7}

When Christ ceases His intercession in the sanctuary, the unmingled wrath threatened against those who worship the beast and his image and receive his mark (Revelation 14:9, 10), will be poured out. The plagues upon Egypt when God was about to deliver Israel were similar in character to those more terrible and extensive judgments which are to fall upon the world just before the final deliverance of God’s people. {GC 627.3} See Rev. 16.

These plagues are not universal, or the inhabitants of the earth would be wholly cut off. Yet they will be the most awful scourges that have ever been known to mortals. All the judgments upon men, prior to the close of probation, have been mingled with mercy. The pleading blood of Christ has shielded the sinner from receiving the full measure of his guilt; but in the final judgment, wrath is poured out unmixed with mercy. {GC 628.2}

What does it mean to receive the mark of the beast?

To follow the practices of the of the pagan church and directly go aganist the word of God. Its following the beast and his image.It’s deciding that you would rather receive the mark of Satan, then be true to your conscience and to what God says in his Holy Word. Its directly going against what we know, and worshiping on Sunday instead of Sabbath.

If the light of truth has been presented to you, revealing the Sabbath of the fourth commandment, and showing that there is no foundation in the Word of God for Sunday observance, and yet you still cling to the false sabbath, refusing to keep holy the Sabbath which God calls “My holy day,” you receive the mark of the beast. When does this take place? When you obey the decree that commands you to cease from labor on Sunday and worship God, while you know that there is not a word in the Bible showing Sunday to be other than a common working day, you consent to receive the mark of the beast, and refuse the seal of God. {7BC 980.1}

The third angel’s message has been sent forth to the world, warning men against receiving the mark of the beast or of his image in their foreheads or in their hands. To receive this mark means to come to the same decision as the beast has done, and to advocate the same ideas, in direct opposition to the Word of God. Of all who receive this mark, God says, “The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.” . . . {7BC 979.12}

John was called to behold a people distinct from those who worship the beast and his image by keeping the first day of the week. The observance of this day is the mark of the beast (Letter 31, 1898). {7BC 979.11}

What is “the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation”?

Jesus has been so merciful with  us for such a long time, but his mercy will not ignore justice. He has sent his angles to warn us.  He has interceded on our behalf, and he has pleaded for us, but know he has to punish those how still persist to follow what they want. He loves us so much, and doesnt like to punish us, but although he is a God of mercy, he does not ignore justice either. He has given us the choice to decide, and the choice is only ours.Prior to the judgment, all of God’s mercy has been mingled with mercy, his blood has shielded us from receiving the full measure of guilt, but now his mercy is going to be poured out  into the cup of it his indignation with unmingled mercy.

We are not to regard God as waiting to punish the sinner for his sin. The sinner brings punishment upon himself. His own actions start a train of circumstances that bring the sure result. Every act of transgression reacts upon the sinner, works in him a change of character, and makes it more easy for him to transgress again. By choosing to sin, men separate themselves from God, cut themselves off from the channel of blessing, and the sure result is ruin and death. {6BC 1085.6} [God is the Source of life].

How are those who receive the mark of the beast “tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever”?

Those that still refuse to do what they know is right( not keeping the 7th day as the Sabbath for example) will not want to be in Heaven. For them heaven would be hell. God would not want to have people in heaven who dont really want to be there. He has given us all free choice, and if we dont choose God, that’s our choice. If we keep on refusing the truth, we will no longer be able to receive mercy.They will have to receive the consequences for their sin. God’s wrath will be poured out with unmingled mercy and all  the plagues will fall. Those people who are wicked, just being the presence of God will to them be hell. God’s glory will be too much for them and they will cry out to the rocks to fall on them. It will be the glory of the almighty God that will torment them more then anything, even the plagues.( I think)

Fearful is the issue to which the world is to be brought. The powers of earth, uniting to war against the commandments of God, will decree that “all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond” (Revelation 13:16), shall conform to the customs of the church by the observance of the false sabbath. All who refuse compliance will be visited with civil penalties, and it will finally be declared that they are deserving of death. On the other hand, the law of God enjoining the Creator’s rest day demands obedience and threatens wrath against all who transgress its precepts. {GC 604.2}

What does it mean that “the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever”? Give some Biblical support. You could also take a look at Jude 7 and Isa. 34:10,11.

In the instanceof Sodum and Gomorrah, they had to suffer the consequenses of eternal fire. The second death though it  is not eternal,  its effects are eternal. The wicked will die and be cut off from God, that is eternal consequences. But God is a God of mercy, and he would not allow his children to suffer forever. If God let  people burn forever, then that would show that there was still sin, becasue people would still be alive.  But sin is destroyed, hence those who are wicked would have to destryed too. (Jude 7)

When was the second angel’s message given?

In the summer of 1844. When God’s people rejected the first angles message then the second angel’s message was sent.
When the churches spurned the counsel of God by rejecting the Advent message, the Lord rejected them. The first angel was followed by a second, proclaiming, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” [REV. 14:8] This message was understood by Adventists to be an announcement of the moral fall of the churches in consequence of their rejection of the first message. The proclamation, “Babylon is fallen,” was given in the summer of 1844, and as the result, about fifty thousand withdrew from these churches. {4SP 232.1} THE SECOND ANGEL’S MESSAGE HAD ITS INITIAL SOUNDING EARLY IN THE SUMMER OF 1844 IN THE CALL TO THE ADVENT BELIEVERS TO COME OUT OF THE NOMINAL CHURCHES THAT HAD REJECTED THE PROCLAMATION OF THE FIRST ANGEL’S MESSAGE.{EW 304.1}

Who did the second angel’s message have a more  direct application to?

The second angels message had a more direct application to the Untied Sates. That is us! So the second angle message is something that is applicable to us today and that we  should take special attention too.
The second angel’s message of Revelation 14 was first preached in the summer of 1844, and it then had a more direct application to the churches of the United States, where the warning of the judgment had been most widely proclaimed and most generally rejected, and where the declension in the churches had been most rapid. But the message of the second angel did not reach its complete fulfillment in 1844. The churches then experienced a moral fall, in consequence of their refusal of the light of the advent message; but that fall was not complete. As they have continued to reject the special truths for this time they have fallen lower and lower. Not yet, however, can it be said that “Babylon is fallen,… because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” She has not yet made all nations do this. The spirit of world conforming and indifference to the testing truths for our time exists and has been gaining ground in churches of the Protestant faith in all the countries of Christendom; and these churches are included in the solemn and terrible denunciation of the second angel. But the work of apostasy has not yet reached its culmination. {GC 389.2}

Why was the second angel’s message given?

Because the churches had trusted to their own strength and wisdom, they were opposing themselves to the first angels message, and thus they couldn’t understand(  or see the light) of the second. Thus they could not be benefited by the second.  It was a warning for them to not disregard the second angels message. When they really understood it, many choose to leave the churches.They needed to ” seek a living experience for themselves and thus they could have  better understood what Jesus had done on the cross for them, so that they could really take it  to heart and do something about it.

“And by rejecting the two former messages, they have so darkened their understanding that they can see no light in the third angel’s message.”
The message was heart-searching, leading the believers to seek a living experience for themselves. They knew that they could not lean upon one another. {EW 238.3}

What were the consequences to the churches when they rejected the first angel’s message? [A how problem]

Because they rejected the First angels message, they could not be benefited for the second. God wanted to show them many things, but because they didn’t want to listen, they could not receive the first and second message, they couldn’t even  receive the third. Also since they rejected the light that God had given them, they lost the  favor of God, because they trusted to their own wisdom.
Those who rejected the first message could not be benefited by the second; neither were they benefited by the midnight cry, which was to prepare them to enter with Jesus by faith into the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary. And by rejecting the two former messages, they have so darkened their understanding that they can see no light in the third angel’s message, which shows the way into the most holy place. I saw that as the Jews crucified Jesus, so the nominal churches had crucified these messages, and therefore they have no knowledge of the way into the most holy, and they cannot be benefited by the intercession of Jesus there.  { EG 260.1

As the churches refused to receive the first angel’s message, they rejected the light from heaven and fell from the favor of God. They trusted to their own strength, and by opposing the first message placed themselves where they could not see the light of the second angel’s message. But the beloved of God, who were oppressed, accepted the message, “Babylon is fallen,” and left the churches. {EW 237.2}

What is the “action step” of the second angel’s message?

God was calling the people of 1844 to ” Come out of Babylon,” which was  the nominal churches that had rejected the advent message.  They were  too “seek a living experience for themselves” and thus by doing that, they would be getting there hearts ready. This message was particularity for the people in 1844 and around that area,  but It also can apply to us. We need to come to the place that we will love God more then then the things of this world. Revelation 18 points to the time when, as the result of rejecting the threefold warning of Revelation 14:6-12, the church will have fully reached the condition foretold by the second angel, and the people of God still in Babylon will be called upon to separate from her communion. This message is the last that will ever be given to the world; and it will accomplish its work. When those that “believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness” (2 Thessalonians 2:12), shall be left to receive strong delusion and to believe a lie, then the light of truth will shine upon all whose hearts are open to receive it, and all the children of the Lord that remain in Babylon will heed the call: “Come out of her, My people” (Revelation 18:4). {GC 390.2} .

When was the climactic closing up of the second angel’s message?

Around or (immediately preceding)October 22,1844, was the climactic closing of the second angels message.

AND WHILE IT IS TRUE THAT THE SECOND ANGEL’S MESSAGE CONTINUES TO BE PRESENT TRUTH, THERE WAS A CLIMACTIC CLOSING UP OF THE SECOND ANGEL’S MESSAGE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING OCTOBER 22, 1844. WHEN THE MESSAGES OF THE THREE ANGELS COME PROMINENTLY BEFORE THE WORLD AGAIN JUST BEFORE THE SECOND ADVENT OF CHRIST, THE ANGEL OF REVELATION 18:1 JOINS IN THE PROCLAMATION OF THE SECOND ANGEL IN THE MESSAGE THAT “BABYLON IS FALLEN.” “COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE.” SEE THE CHAPTER “THE FINAL WARNING” IN THE GREAT CONTROVERSY, PAGES 603-612. {EW 304.1}
The Bible declares that before the coming of the Lord, Satan will work “with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness;” and they that “received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved,” will be left to receive “strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9-11. Not until this condition shall be reached, and the union of the church with the world shall be fully accomplished throughout Christendom, will the fall of Babylon be complete. The change is a progressive one, and the perfect fulfillment of Revelation 14:8 is yet future. {GC 389.3}

What was the Midnight Cry?

When was the Midnight Cry given?

Near the close of the second angel’s message, [SEE APPENDIX BELOW.] I saw a great light from heaven shining upon the people of God. The rays of this light seemed bright as the sun. And I heard the voices of angels crying, “Behold, the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him!” {EW 238.1}

What was the purpose of the Midnight Cry?

To give power to the second angels message and to arose the people (saints) to the great work that God had for them to do.
This was the midnight cry, which was to give power to the second angel’s message. Angels were sent from heaven to arouse the discouraged saints and prepare them for the great work before them. The most talented men were not the first to receive this message. Angels were sent to the humble, devoted ones, and constrained them to raise the cry, “Behold, the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him!” Those entrusted with the cry made haste, and in the power of the Holy Spirit sounded the message, and aroused their discouraged brethren. This work did not stand in the wisdom and learning of men, but in the power of God, and His saints who heard the cry could not resist it. The most spiritual received this message first, and those who had formerly led in the work were the last to receive and help swell the cry, “Behold, the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him!” {EW 238.2}

For those who had received the first angel’s message, how did the Midnight Cry prepare them to enter with Jesus by faith into the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary?

The midnight cry is telling us to be ready when Jesus comes so that we can “ go out” to meet him. Those who received the first angels message, understanding the midnight cry would help them to be able enter the most holy place by faith. Because by understanding it, they were getting ready. (although Jesus wasn’t coming then)  If you don’t have a relationship with Jesus, then you will not be wanting to learn about what he wants you to do. By not  understanding the first and second angels message, we wont understand that Jesus is moving from the Holy place to the most holy place, thus we will not be benefited by the third angels message. By believing the midnight cry, we move by faith with Jesus into the most holy place, because we are yearning for a deeper experience, a living and real experience. “The message was heart searching, leading the believers to seek a living experience for themselves.” (EG 238.8 ) By obeying the call, we then can draw nearer to Jesus and better understand the truths of the ministration in the Most Holy place. Those who rejected the first message could not be benefited by the second; neither were they benefited by the midnight cry, which was to prepare them to enter with Jesus by faith into the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary. And by rejecting the two former messages, they have so darkened their understanding that they can see no light in the third angel’s message, which shows the way into the most holy place. Just as Jesus cleansed the temple both at the beginning and at the end of His public ministry, so in the last work for the warning of the world, two distinct calls are made to the churches. What are the two distinct calls to the churches, and when are these two calls made?

“ Babylon is fallen is fallen” that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. This call was given in the summer of 1844 .“Come out of her my people”,  that ye may not be partakers in her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached up to heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. This call should be proclaimed right now till the end of probation.

Why are there only two distinct calls made to the churches?

When Jesus opened his ministry, he cleansed the temple and near the second coming, he will again cleanse it a second time. Initially it was the midnight cry/ second angels message that was the wakeup call to the churches.  The first call was to let them know about the seiousness of the problem, the intensity to which they were subject. The last call is being proclaimed now, warning people that they need to be ready. Time is running out fast and soon there will be no more time to ” come out of Babylon” because probaiton will be up. We need to make sure that we are ready with all of our hearts so that we can recive the second/ last call and not be left out of God special people. There are no real major event  happening from the first call to the last, so thats why there were only two distinct calls. (  this having to do with the heavely sactuary)

- Where did the prophecy of the first angel’s message have its most direct fulfillment?

To William Miller and his co labourers it was given to preach the warning in America. This country became the center of the great advent movement. It was here that the prophecy of the first angel’s message had its most direct fulfillment. The writings of Miller and his associates were carried to distant lands. Wherever missionaries had penetrated in all the world, were sent the glad tidings of Christ’s speedy return. Far and wide spread the message of the everlasting gospel: “Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come. (GC 368)

- How is the first angel’s message announcing ” the hour of His judgment is come,” a part of the gospel?

“The hour of His judgement is come” is telling us that Christ’s work in the Sanctuary is closing up. Its directly liked with our Salvation and the proclamation of the Advent message.  Jesus is working out our salvation, and without that, we would not have the chance of eternal life.
The announcement, “The hour of His judgment is come,” points to the closing work of Christ’s ministration for the salvation of men. It heralds a truth which must be proclaimed until the Saviour’s intercession shall cease and He shall return to the earth to take His people to Himself. The work of judgment which began in 1844 must continue until the cases of all are decided, both of the living and the dead; hence it will extend to the close of human probation. {GC 435.2}
While the investigative judgment is going forward in heaven, while the sins of penitent believers are being removed from the sanctuary, there is to be a special work of purification, of putting away of sin, among God’s people upon earth. This work is more clearly presented in the messages of Revelation 14. {GC 425.1}Christ came to our world to reveal God. The gospel is his instrument of redemption. {RH, July 3, 1900 par. 13}

There cannot be a third without the first and second. These messages we are to give to the world in publications, in discourses, showing in the line of prophetic history the things that have been, and the things that will be.–Manuscript 32, 1896. {CW 26.2}

- How is the first angel’s message still relevant today?

The first angels message was there to show us what we are to do, so that we won’t be separated from God, because the principles of the churches had become corrupted and they had become worldly. Isn’t that us? The church’s nowadays have become so corrupted and God is warning us of it ahead of time, so that we wont be deceived into thinking thats just the way it’s supposed to be. That is relevant to us isn’t it? Also Jesus is telling us to go and proclaim it to the whole world that He is coming back, and we are supposed to be lights that people will see and want to know about.
The first angel’s message of Revelation 14, announcing the hour of God’s judgment and calling upon men to fear and worship Him, was designed to separate the professed people of God from the corrupting influences of the world and to arouse them to see their true condition of worldliness and backsliding. In this message, God has sent to the church a warning, which, had it been accepted, would have corrected the evils that were shutting them away from Him. {GC 379.1}
These three angels represent the people who accept the light of God’s messages, and go forth as His agents to sound the warning throughout the length and breadth of the earth. Christ declared to His followers, “Ye are the light of the world.” To every soul that accepts Jesus, the cross of Calvary speaks: “Behold the worth of the soul. ‘Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.’” Nothing is to be permitted to hinder this work. It is the all-important work for this time, and it is to be far-reaching as eternity. {ST, January 25, 1910 par. 5}

- What is the “action step” for the first angel’s message?

Keeping the law with all of our hearts. IF we accepted it with our whole heart, then we would have the love and unity that the apostles had in the time of Christ. ( came somewhere from EGW, my own words) It’s also  our response to the message. What do we do with the knowledge that we know?
That men may be prepared to stand in the judgment, the message commands them to “fear God, and give glory to Him,” “and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” The result of an acceptance of these messages is given in the word: “Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” In order to be prepared for the judgment, it is necessary that men should keep the law of God. That law will be the standard of character in the judgment. {GC 435.2} “The importance of the Sabbath as the memorial of creation is that it keeps ever present the true reason why worship is due to God”–because He is the Creator, and we are His creatures. “The Sabbath therefore lies at the very foundation of divine worship, for it teaches this great truth in the most impressive manner, and no other institution does this. The true ground of divine worship, not of that on the seventh day merely, but of all worship, is found in the distinction between the Creator and His creatures. {GC 437.2}

- How does the first angel’s message, as it was perceived during the advent movement of 1840-1844, fit together with the actual content of the first angel’s message?

Its proclaiming the advent of Christ.WHILE WE UNDERSTAND CLEARLY THAT THE MESSAGES OF THE FIRST AND SECOND AND THIRD ANGELS ARE MESSAGES THAT HAVE THEIR APPLICATION TODAY, WE RECOGNIZE ALSO THAT IN THEIR INITIAL PROCLAMATION THE SOUNDING OF THE FIRST ANGEL’S MESSAGE WITH ITS DECLARATION THAT “THE HOUR OF GOD’S JUDGMENT IS COME” IS LINKED WITH THE PROCLAMATION OF THE EXPECTED ADVENT OF CHRIST IN THE 1830′S AND EARLY 1840′S. {EW 304.1} The first message is to be repeated proclaiming the second advent of Christ to our world. {16MR 40.2}

- Who gives the first angel’s message?

God’s people; the ones who accept the light and take it to the world. These three angels represent the people who accept the light of God’s messages, and go forth as His agents to sound the warning throughout the length and breadth of the earth. (ST, January 25, 1910 par. 5)
What are the three parts of the first angel’s message? First: The everlasting Gospel spread to the whole world. Second: Fear God, and give glory to him.( Keeping His commandments.) That men may be prepared to stand in the judgment, the message commands them to “fear God, and give glory to Him,” “and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” The result of an acceptance of these messages is given in the word: “Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” In order to be prepared for the judgment, it is necessary that men should keep the law of God. That law will be the standard of character in the judgment. {GC 435.2}

- How many times is the first angel’s message given?

It is to be repeated again and again till Jesus comes. The first message is to be repeated proclaiming the second advent of Christ to our world. {16MR 40.2}

- When was the first angel’s message given?

The first and second angel’s messages were given in 1843 and 1844. (CW 26.2)

- Where was the first angel’s message given?

To William Miller and his co laborers it was given to preach the warning in America. This country became the center of the great advent movement. It was here that the prophecy of the first angel’s message had its most direct fulfillment. The writings of Miller and his associates were carried to distant lands. Wherever missionaries had penetrated in all the world, were sent the glad tidings of Christ’s speedy return. Far and wide spread the message of the everlasting gospel: “Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come. (GC 368)

- How do the three parts of the first angel’s message influence each other?

The Judgment is going to see if you have kept the law. “Christ hanging on the cross is the Gospel.” We need the strength from the Holy Spirit to keep the law, because on our own we cant do it. The Gospel is necessary so that we can keep the law. The Gospel also influences keeping the law, because we cannot perfectly obey the law, so we have to go to the marriage, where the gospel gives us Christ’s perfect character, thus enabling us to be able to finally perfectly obey the law.
Christ came to our world to reveal God. The gospel is his instrument of redemption. {RH, July 3, 1900 par. 13}
The whole world needs to be instructed in the oracles of God, to understand the object of the atonement, the at-one-ment, with God. The object of this atonement was that the divine law and government might be maintained. Manuscript 163, 1897. {7ABC 471.4}
The announcement, “The hour of His judgment is come,” points to the closing work of Christ’s ministration for the salvation of men. It heralds a truth which must be proclaimed until the Saviour’s intercession shall cease and He shall return to the earth to take His people to Himself. The work of judgment which began in 1844 must continue until the cases of all are decided, both of the living and the dead; hence it will extend to the close of human probation. {GC 435.2} While the investigative judgment is going forward in heaven, while the sins of penitent believers are being removed from the sanctuary, there is to be a special work of purification, of putting away of sin, among God’s people upon earth. This work is more clearly presented in the messages of Revelation 14. {GC 425.1}

When the churches spurned the counsel of God by rejecting the Advent message, the Lord rejected them. {4SP 232.1} Because they rejected God, He rejected them.

The proclamation, “Babylon is fallen,” was given in the summer of 1844, and as the result, about fifty thousand withdrew from these churches. {4SP 232.1}

- Why was the first angel’s message given?

The first angels message was there to show us what we are to do, so that we won’t be separated from God, because the principles of the churches had become corrupted and they had become worldly. Isnt that us? The church’s nowadays have become so corrupted and God is warning us of it ahead of time, so that we wont be deceived into thinking that’s just the way it’s supposed to be. God is wonderful isn’t He?

The first angel’s message of Revelation 14, announcing the hour of God’s judgment and calling upon men to fear and worship Him, was designed to separate the professed people of God from the corrupting influences of the world and to arouse them to see their true condition of worldliness and backsliding. In this message, God has sent to the church a warning, which, had it been accepted, would have corrected the evils that were shutting them away from Him.  If  the first angles message had been accepted, would have corrected the evils that were shutting them away from Him. {GC 379.1}

First off I just want to say that I am not sure what I believe… I have not studied this myself so I can’t support what I think. Here are some concepts that you taught us but also there are some that you didn’t teach us. I hope it all makes sense…

In revelation, there are seven seals…

As the first seal was being opened, the noise of thunder was heard. After the beast spoke with the noise of thunder, a crown was given to the white horse, and it went out a conqueror and to conquer. The thunder is the delineating events of the first and second angel’s messages, “which was a call to go out from the holy place, in preparation for the third angel’s message which was a call to go into the most holy place for Christ’s final atonement work for His people.” The first seal is the represented as a white horse. (White usually represents purity or righteousness.) The significance of this is that the (white) church will go to the marriage and receive the wedding garment, which symbolizes Christ’s righteousness and his perfect spotless character. The white horse represents the early advent church. (the remnant.) “This white horse symbolizes the people who went out, by faith from the holy place, and went into the Most Holy Place for the marriage, which they did by understanding His change of ministration and His last work of intercession there.”

The second seal is represented as a red horse. Red symbolizes the rejection of Christ. The red horse( church) crucified Christ, in the form of first angles messages. “The going out” for the red horse means that the protestant church coming out of the reformation area. The Protestants changed from being blessed by God, to apostate Protestantism. They moved away from the blessing to being in a position where they “experienced a moral fall, in consequence of their refusal of the light of the advent message.” Truth is progressive. In 1844 the prostates experienced a moral fall and they were no more a protestant church being blessed by God. The Fall of Babylon happens when the church employed the power of the state. Nation apostasy. “A power was given to him “This red horse( and rider) takes peace away – cant give people an understanding of the marriage, which gives peace, because they rejected the first and second angels messages and “they don’t have any knowledge of the way into the most holy place, and so they can’t be benefited by experiencing the marriage.” “There was given unto him a great sword.” The word of God is pictured as a sword, but it can be good or bad, depending on how it is used. The prostate church today is in the state of the black horse. That leads us to the next point.

The third seal is represented as a Black horse. The Protestants of 1844 rejected the truth thus becoming “Black.” It was a progressive fall. “Black symbolizes the absence of light, and by rejecting the three angels’ messages, Protestantism has rejected Christ, who is the Light and who is the One Who brought the three angels’ messages [Rev. 10:1-3], and therefore they cannot be the light of the world.” The Black horse corresponds to the second angle’s message; “Babylon is fallen.” “He that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand”. In Greek balances means yoke of slavery. Christians get entangled with the yoke of bondage and they forget that they are justified by the laws at the judgment, instead of Christ’ righteousness. “A measure of wheat of three measures of barely for a penny.” This is meaning that there will be a scarcity of the truth of the three angle’s messages. “See that thou no hurt the oil and the wine.” The oil represents the holy spirit and the wine represents Christ’s atoning blood. Because probation is still going on we still have the chance to choose Jesus or not. Probation isn’t gone. ( the black horse is where we are today)

The forth seal is represented as a Pale horse. The riders name is death. When you think of pale, what do you think of? Someone dead? Well that’s about what the pale horse is about. Death. This represents a spiritual death .When we are in the “ pale horse era” that’s when the complete fall of Babylon happens, that’s when the church works with the government to institute a National Sunday law. The pale horse will try to kill the other horses, especially the white one. This pale dead horse in on a path to destruction, Hell and its destination is the second death. Babylon will try to kill the white horse and all that want to follow it.

The fifth seal- Souls under the Alter “ and when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:” … “and it was said unto them, that they should not rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed a they were, should be fulfilled.”

From the Reformation so the great Lisbon earthquake, Nov 1, 1755, theses had been killed under the preceding seal. If, as is some-times taught, these martyrs were already in heaven and persecutors in hell, what more vengeance could they desire? But here the figure of personification is used. Here are some example that represent inanimate things to being alive. (Hab 2:11; Gen 4:10, and Romans 4:17) Theses martyrs had gone down as the worst of evildoers, but the Reformation threw a new light on their work and character. White robes were given to them(Rev 19:8) and they were to rest a little longer until the Resurrection. ( 1 Thess 4:16-18). The “ alter” is the altar of sacrifice or this earth, where their lives were offered, God does not confine his people in an altar of other receptacle in heaven.

The sixth and seventh seal are both about the second coming. The sixth seal shows the wicked people’s response to Christ’s coming while the seventh seal show’s the good people’s response ( God people) to His coming.

The sixth seal- Great Earthquake (Their was the great Lisbon earthquake of Nov 1 , then there was the Great Dark Day, May 19,1780, and the Moon was as blood, May 19,1780) The powers of heaven were shaken and the sun was darkened. The moon became as blood, the earth shook and stars fell from Heaven. All the earth called for the mountains to fall on them and hide them for the face of the earth and from the wrath of the Lord.

The seventh seal- Silence in Heaven for half an hour. This is in the future so I dont know when  it is going to happen, but maybe in the sky!

The silence in heaven for half an hour is a literal half an hour. After 1844, there no more prophetic time.

 

Revelation 5- the book

“The [place] setting for the book is the most Holy place and it covers the judgment, marriage and second coming.” “The [time] setting is the portion of the redemption plan that covers the last days, from 1798 onward to the second coming, but especially from the time of the advent movement of 1840-1844.”

In Daniel, the sealed book is the portion of the prophesies that pertain to the last days and it is the unsealed book of revelation. Since 1798, the book has been unsealed because the prophecies are not yet fulfilled. The first angels message have been preached from 1840-1844 to the present. Prophecy is now fulfilled and it can now be proclaimed to the whole earth, the three angles messages can be preached. This book focus is on the events that happen after 1798. We are in the final part of  the remeption plan and when it is finished the second coming will take place. The book is shut up until the time of the end, (1798)  and then the  book will be opened.(at the judgement)

In heaven, there is only one person who is worthy to open the little book. That is Jesus. He is holding the little book and is standing between seat and the earth (Rev10) Jesus’ came down to this earth to die for us. He was slain for our sins and is the only one that has the ability to open the book because he redeemed us. This book is about redemption. It revels our hearts, and Jesus is the only one that can read them. The book also contains our records that will be opened at the judgment.

Written within means in the heart. It is something to be experienced. As the book gets unsealed, the three angel’s messages are being fulfilled. The ways that we react to the messages are written in the book. Written on the backside. It is referring to when is time. Some people get the experience before others or behind them, so to speak. We represent those people. We have only heard about them, not experienced them. If we keep the three angles messages, we will be kept form believing Satan’s delusions. The three angles messages believed and acted on will prepare us to stand in the time of trouble. Written inside this book are the peoples attitudes and decisions towards Christ. Since this book records people’s attitudes towards Christ, it is important that we are listening to God’s voice speaking to us and that we do what he tells us to.

In heaven, a door was opened. That door was 1844.  The judgment started at then. During the time period of 1840-44 the advent movement started. The second and third  angles messages were preached during the summer of  1844. The third angle was pointing  the way into the most holy place. All of the messages are falling together now.We never experienced these messages when they happened. We are behind in time, we are on the backside. ( of the book) The third angels message has not yet been fulfilled, but we are to be preaching it to the world right now.

This whole message is about the heart, and if our hearts are not right with God we will not be able to stand the time of trouble in the last days. Jesus is comng really soon.  It’s my prayer the things of this world will not look so appealin  that  I loose my focus on what really impoartant, my relationship with God.

Daniel 9

Dan 9:25 tells us that the 2300 day prophecy began at the going fourth of the commandment to rebuild Jerusalem. There were actually three commands to rebuild Jerusalem by King Artaxerxes, King Darius, and King Cyrus. But it was completed and issued by King Artaxerxes in the Autumn of  457 BC. It was then  that Ezra finally began to rebuild Jerusalem.

     The ancient calendar was started and ended in the spring. People didn’t realize that the command hadn’t gone into affect until the fall instead of the spring.  …The decree of Artaxerxes for the restoration of Jerusalem, which formed the starting point for the period of the 2300 days, went into effect in the autumn of the year 457 B.C….  Reckoning from the autumn of 457, the 2300 years terminate in the autumn of 1844.  {GC 398.4} If you add up from the year 475 + 2300 days that takes you to the year 1843. The reason that it’s so is because there is no year 0, which would then take you to the year 1844. It really just that simple, they skipped year 0 so if you add that on, then you get to the year 1844.

     From the fall of 457 BC it would make sense that the date that it should land on would be 1844. If we use the  Jewish OT cleansing of the sanctuary ceremony that fell on the tenth day of the seventh month and connect it to the common calendar that we use today, we see that the tenth day of the seventh month would have fallen on the year 1844, October 22.

     Since October 22, 1844 we have been living in the judgment. Jesus has been cleansing the heavenly sanctuary and he is coming really soon. I can’t wait to see him and to go home soon.

Character, the marriage part 4

We are all born with characters that are sinful, but before the timeof trouble we need to go to the marriage to have our charcters perfected. On our own we can’t have perfect characters. So what is character and nature? Character is made up of  thought and feelings, (habitual thought patterns), while our natures pertain to habits. So character and nature can be interchanged, thus we have inherit habits because nature means that you were born with it. We all have defective characters, which is sin. Jesus says in John 3:3, that we cant see the kingdom of God unless we are born from above, which is to have  a new heart with new desires, proposes, and motives that will lead to a new life. All of us are born with sinful natures and have a bent to evil, a desire for self-exaltation, and selfishness. At birth we are born with original sin, which means we have a tendency to do evil right from the beginning. We have to go to the marriage to have perfect characters.We cant have perfect characterson our own, but it’s our duty to build our characters while here on earth. This we can do only with God’s help.

“Our part is to put the right thoughts into the mind, repetitiously thus programming the subconscious, because if the thoughts are right the feeling will be right. The part that God plays, that man cannot do is to change the desires or feelings.” Our will must be trained because it is the governing power of man.  Everyday we either help to build our characters to be more like Jesus or more like Satan. It’s just the simple everyday things that build our characters. The habits we make everyday are a part of that. Our mental and moral powers that God has given us help to make up our characters, but they don’t make up our character. We need to develop our powers because we owe them to God and to our fellow man .They are talents that God has given us and if they are cultivated properly, will form a right character. Training our powers is one of the most important things that we could do. But a development of the powers does not change the desires. Our old desires need to be removed for the achievement of a righteous character. During the progressive conversion process, God gives us new desires and strength to resist and subdue the old desires, but the old desires are not removed. We must exercise our will to perform right acts, but even a lifetime of developing our will power along with our mental and moral powers does not give us a sinless character. The exercises of the will and human effort all have their proper sphere, but they are powerless on their own. “They may produce an outward correctness of behavior, but they cannot change the heart.” We have to have Jesus working in our heart, and the more we behold him and spend time with him the more we will become like him. “The power of Christ along can quicken the lifeless faculties of the soul and attract it to God, and to holiness.”

    At the final atonement or the blotting out of sin, man will have to have a character that is sinless. The sanctuary servce shows that we are sinful because of the record of sin in our minds. The record of sin on the books in heaven is a photograph of what his thoughts really are. Because we have a record of sin it makes our character blotted and until those blots are removed, we will still have a defective character.

     Spiritualistic theories make man his own savior believing that man can be sinless by making right choices, thus doing away with the final atonement and the need for the marriage. Not till the final atonement, will our records of sin be blotted out and our deisre for selfishness and porpensites to evil be gone.At the marriage, our sins that are covered will then be blotted out. When we don’t see the extent of how sinful we really are, then we wont understand how much we really need Christ’s righteousness to save us. Before we can keep the law with all our hearts, the old desires we have need to be removed and we have to humbly go to him and ask for his help. We cannot be sinless without a mediator during the time of trouble without the final atonement.

      Even though it might seem like there is no hope for us, that we are too great of sinners to go to heaven, we can know that with Christ we can do all things and that if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
